Bigpond Movies

February 4th, 2007 by Jennine

I would always be the first to say that I’m not a big fan of Telstra’s but they have definitely done the right thing with Bigpond Movies. If you are like me and always want to watch new release dvds but can’t be stressed about returning them the next day, accruing huge late fees then check out Bigpond Movies.

They have a variety of plans on offer, with the option of a 12 month contract or no contract at all. Obviously, the no contract will accrue a higher charge, but only by a couple of dollars. Also, if you are already a Bigpond member then the discounts to you are worth looking into. Prices start at just $9.95 a month with four movies a month, the more movies you want, the more you pay.

They have over 20,000 titles and are adding more and more each week. Delivery is quick and you pick it up from your letterbox which could be at the end of your driveway. Also, once you have marked that you have returned your dvd, they will send out your next title.

As you can see, I can speak highly enough of Bigpond Movies. Their customer service is superb, when we first joined we received a follow up call asking how we liked the service and when I had a query about a movie, I received an email and phone call. Unlike most DVD Stores, the movies aren’t scratched or used as a coaster previously and all scratched dvds are replaced.

Check out Bigpond Movies today and you can take advantage of their 30 day trial period.

Invaders have landed at Warner Bros.

February 1st, 2007 by Paul

Nope, this has nothing to do with the classic 1960s ABC Science Fiction series, which is what I first thought when I heard the news.

Variety has reported that Warner Bros. have picked up the script Invaders from screenwriter Jayson Rothwell.

The action-thriller centers on a group of thieves who are forced by a rogue U.S. government agent to retrieve a video of the president having sex with the wife of an Arab sheik.

So nothing to do with Aliens, just a video where the president is having sex. I bet that would make a ton of money on the internet. :P

New Hi-Res Harry Potter 5 Photo

January 20th, 2007 by Paul

ComingSoon.net has received new shot of Daniel Radcliffe in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which opens in conventional theaters and IMAX on July 13.

In the film, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community has been denied the truth about the teenager’s recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort. Fearing that Hogwarts’ venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemort’s return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. But Professor Dolores Umbridge’s Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves “Dumbledore’s Army,” Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.
