I would have to recommend this for the boys, it is full of “fart” humour and I don’t think many women would get the jokes. I definitely didn’t. Chris Klein and Brendan Fehr star in this comedy and they do work well together.
Ed (Fehr) is looking at losing his job and his brother, Cooper is concerned about his sex life. Cooper (Klein) is an actor who is able to pick up women with the wink of an eye and does all he can to get Ed laid as he feels that this will put him back in the advertising game.
As you can imagine, hijinks abound in this comedy and surprisingly it does have its witty moments, but they are few and far between. Neither character is likeable nor do you feel for or care about either of them.
The Long Weekend has an interesting premise, it could have been a lot better, but again I think that it wasn’t given enough time to have a real story develop.

Shake and Bake! What a movie, surprisingly I absolutely loved it. As a few people know I’m not a big Will Ferrell fan but the movie Talledega Nights has erased all doubts of his comedic ability
It features his character as a high profile racing car driver with his best mate (John C Reilly) also a driver. Together they are unbeatable and are often 1, 2 on the leader board until the French driver, (Sacha Cohen Baron) comes along and threatens the title.
There are many scenes with blatant product placement, but the way it is done keeps the laughs coming. It plays on stereotypes, all tongue in cheek, such as rednecks, racing drivers and the French.
The two kids, Texas and Walker Ranger, are adorable little brats with a bad attitude. The youngest one is hilarious especially when threatening Grand dad, it’s a case of you know it’s wrong to laugh but it’s just so funny.
Definitely not a film you would like the kids to see as it will teach bad habits but if you don’t want to think then this is a movie for you. A lot of laughs, few morals and sayings to live by.

If you can describe a movie as bland – then that is how I feel about Shopgirl. I was under the impression given that Steve Martin, Claire Danes and Jason Schwartzmann were in this film that it would at the very least be interesting. I was wrong.
Mirabelle (Danes) works for Saks Fifth Avenue in Los Angeles and aches for more. She has a couple of dates with Jeremy (Schwartzmann) and writes him off as soon as Ray (Martin) comes along.
The movie tries to be “arthouse” and examine the side of ourselves that we protect and we don’t show to others. Individually they all give good performances it’s just that the story is trite and they don’t seem to gel together. The “love” story just feels unreal and non existent as Danes just looks like she is too good for both of them and they fall well short of her expectations.
Unless you are a fan of Danes or Martin it is not worth viewing as there are much better love triangle movies out there.

If you are a fan of musicals and especially Broadway productions, this is a movie for you. The Producers is the Broadway production transferred to the big screen.
With a star studded cast such as Matthew Broderick, Will Ferrell and Uma Thurman this movie is bound to impress. Uma is in her element performing huge songs and succeeding.
Leo Bloom (Matthew Broderick) is a pathetic petty accountant with a desire to become a Broadway Producer. Bialystock is a Broadway Producer who makes musicals that flop. Leo has an idea that you can make more money from a play that flops than from one that is successful.
Will Ferrell is entertaining as the Nazi scriptwriter who worships Hitler. The movie flies by as there is lots of singing, dancing and jokes abound in The Producers. It is a fun movie but definitely not for non-musical fans.

Lindsay Lohan is Lexy Gold, popular school newspaper gossip columnist who aspires to be something more. Inadvertently she stumbles across a major story and decides to investigate further with her colleagues.
Naturally, she has her friends to help her out and also guide her on the right path. Adults believe every word that the children tell them and they are the only one’s who can save an innocent man.
Get A Clue also looks at pre judging people, such as the homeless or those that live in poorer circumstances. You need to get to know people for themselves. Like I said, Disney enjoy hidden messages in their movies.
This is a mystery for those under the age of 15. Lohan is full of enthusiasm and as per most Disney movies this one has morals all over the place. Don’t let this fool you though, it is a good movie and will definitely hold the attention of most tweens.
