Mad About Mambo

The idea of a movie mixing Salsa dancing and Soccer intrigued me. I had no hopes of it being a movie to remember, which is a good thing. This is a movie that you will forget five minutes after you have seen it.
Lucy, (Keri Russell) is spoilt daddy’s girl who gets everything she wants and so she wants to succeed at Salsa dancing as she feels it’s the only thing she’s good at.
Danny (William Ash), wants to be a professional footballer for Belfast United. A new recruit for Belfast United inspires him to take up Salsa dancing to improve his football skills.
A positive of the movie is that even though it is set in Belfast, Mad About Mambo doesn’t become political. To be honest, I don’t think they even thought about putting that kind of message in such a bad film. Why was it bad? The actors were wooden, there was no rapport between the love interest let alone a sense of chemistry.
This is not a good movie and not worth seeing. Watch it on TV, but don’t hire.
